Introduction
One of the most exciting parts of the journey to launching DriftBar is curating the perfect cocktail menu. This isn’t a task we take lightly. It involves careful crafting, experimenting, tasting, and a whole lot of fun! On Sunday, 11th June, our head mixologist Ewan travelled to Largs (his first visit to the town!) for an epic six-hour menu refinement and team-building day. The aim? To create a line-up of ten exquisite cocktails for our grand launch night, with some exclusive concoctions that you won’t find anywhere else.
A Cocktail Extravaganza
During our six-hour cocktail extravaganza, Ewan stirred, shook, and mixed over 20 different cocktails. Yes, you read that right – over 20! Each cocktail was carefully tasted, critiqued, and tweaked by the team to achieve the perfect balance of flavours. It was a marathon of mixing, tasting, and perfecting, but don’t worry, no alcohol was wasted during this process! Each droplet was savoured and put to good use in our quest to create the perfect cocktail menu.
A Taste Sensation
In my humble opinion, I rank these cocktails as some of the finest I’ve savoured. It’s not a solitary perspective – both Cailin, Conor and Jacqueline agree that these drinks rank among the most incredible we’ve ever tried. Notably, Jacqueline proved to be the day’s most discerning critic. With her extensive twenty-year industry experience, her feedback was invaluable. This further emphasises the fervor and expertise Ewan, our head mixologist at DriftBar, infuses into his craft.
Conclusion
Refining our cocktail menu and spending time together as a team was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Not only did we have a great time, but we also created a menu that we’re truly proud of. We’re excited to bring these carefully crafted cocktails to Ayrshire, and we can’t wait to serve them at our launch night.
